Welcome back to NcCrullex YouTube. What is Bruce Lee’s fight record and who exactly has he fought in real life? Well, Bruce Lee didn’t fight professionally so we didn’t have a record. The only tournament he entered was an amateur boxing tournament in Hong Kong at a high school level which he allegedly won, defeating the three-time champion of the event, Gary Elms.

Bruce got into many fights throughout his career. There are eye-witness testimonies to Bruce Lee in fights. Some with names and most without names. According to a student, Jessie Glover, he refereed a fight between Bruce Lee and an unnamed karate master at a YMCA handball court in Seattle. The fight had a timekeeper and it’s alleged to have lasted eleven seconds with Bruce Lee winning by knockout. Bruce Lee had an infamous fight at a martial arts studio in Oakland, California against a kung fu master named Wong Jack Man.

According to his wife, Linda, the fight lasted three minutes. After a brief encounter, Wong Jack Man ran around the room. Bruce caught up to him and took him to the floor and pounded him until a he verbally submitted. Wong Jack Man and a few witnesses he brought with him have a different account. They say the fight lasted unusually long. Twenty to twenty-five minutes. There was no clear winner. They mostly landed grazing shots until Wong staggered Bruce with a shot to the neck.

Eventually, the spectators interfered after Wong Jack Man tripped over a raised portion of the floor and Bruce Lee tried to pounce on him, shouting at him to give up but he never yielded. The witnesses say the fight was a draw. Either way, Bruce Lee was unhappy with his performance and dedicated himself to rigorous training and developed new theories on martial arts which led to the creation of Jeet Kune Do. It is also being claimed that Bruce Lee got into fights with experts on the set of ‘Enter the Dragon.’

Bob Wall recounts Bruce Lee fighting an extra who challenged Bruce Lee saying he was just an actor and not a skilled martial artist. According to Wall, Bruce Lee toyed with his challenger and defeated him easily. That gave him lessons to improve his martial arts skills. Since none of these alleged fights were recorded, you can’t assess Bruce Lee’s fighting skills from them. His actual skill level will remain a mystery. I honestly don’t think Bruce Lee cared about testing himself in competition. Once he became a movie star, he probably felt that that was the best way to express himself through martial arts.
