BruceLeeRealFight:
Welcome to BruceLeeRealFight channel.
Have you ever heard about the real fight between Bruce Lee and Sammo Hung on the set in Hong Kong? We are not talking about the fight in the opening scene of the 1973 Enter the Dragon, we are talking about a real fight between Sammo Hung and Bruce Lee when they were not friends and when they hit each other.

BruceLeeRealFight:
In the early 70s, Bruce Lee returned to Hong Kong from America because he was not happy with his supporting roles in the U.S. On one evening, Bruce visited Golden Harvest studio in Hong Kong. He was unaware that he was famous because The Green Hornet had been played to success in Hong Kong. It was unofficially referred to as The Kato show. During that time, Sammo Hung was hired by Golden Harvest as a stunt coordinator. He apparently ran into Bruce on the set during filming. As they got to talking about martial arts and Chinese Kung Fu, Bruce misunderstood Sammo Hung.

BruceLeeRealFight:
They started to argue about certain final points and then as martial artists are warned to do, they began to show each other their own fighting techniques. According to Sammo Hung, it wasn’t quite a full-out challenge match but there was some light contact involved. Sammo Hung was just 19 years old at the time. He was defeated by Bruce Lee but his pride wouldn’t allow him to say that Bruce was better. However, Sammo finally admits that Bruce was better, faster and stronger in a Hong Kong interview years after Bruce Lee’s death.

Now take a look at this interview.
Interviewer:
Have you ever fought Bruce Lee?
Sammo Hung (Actor, Martial Artist, Film Producer & Director):
Yes, I did. We fought each other because of misunderstanding.
Interviewer:
Both of your friendships start from a fight?

Sammo Hung (Actor, Martial Artist, Film Producer & Director):
Not really. I knew him before he knew me. He wasn’t popular at that time. I knew him because I watched Green Hornet before and I was inspired by his skill. One day, I was on the set doing some fight choreography, Bruce Lee just came back from America, he came to the set and I saw him. I was shocked and I asked him I heard your kicks is fast. Perhaps it was my tone that sounds like challenging him but I don’t plan to fight him. I was just admiring him. Is your kick really powerful?

Sammo Hung (Actor, Martial Artist, Film Producer & Director):
Bruce then misunderstood. He then asked me what do you want, huh? Do do you want to try it, huh? Then I said, okay. We then stand face to face. I tried to kick first. But when my leg was just about to rise, Bruce Lee’s leg was already at my face here. He then asked me, how was it? Fast and powerful, that’s what I said to him. He was really fast. Since then, he always came to the set to visit me. He always talked about martial arts to me. He is really passionate about it.
