MMA Shredded (A YouTube Channel by Jeff Chan, a MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

In this video I will be showing you 5 of my favorite tactics used by Bruce Lee. **Note** that UNLIKE my usual Martial Arts tutorials, I have never been formally trained in Jeet Kune Do and this video was made for fun!

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Hey everyone! It’s Jeff Chen from MMA Shredded, and, in this video, I will be showing you five of my favorite Bruce Lee tactics used in my MMA Sparring. But, please note that unlike my other martial arts tutorials, I’ve never actually been formerly trained in Jeet Kune Do. If you like this video please like, comment, share and subscribe.

TACTIC 1: Flick Punch/Back Fist

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Tactic one is the flick punch or back fist. Bruce Lee uses his lead hand and strikes with the back of his fist. Start with your hand open and clench your fist in an instant before hitting your target. When striking do not hyper extend your arm by extending fully but stop in approximately a hundred and sixty degrees. Here it is on the heavy bag.” (He demonstrates with a heavy bag)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

And here it is in my sparring. (He demonstrates with a partner)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Here are some failed attempts. (He demonstrates with a partner)

TACTIC 2: Flick Punch – Liver Punch

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Tactic two is the flick punch followed by a liver punch. Bruce Lee will throw the flick punch and when his opponent blocks it, opening his body, Bruce Lee will throw a power punch to the body.” (He demonstrates with a partner)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

“Here it is on the heavy bag.” (He demonstrates with a heavy bag)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

“And then here it is in my sparring.” (He demonstrates with a partner)

TACTIC 3: Flick Punch – Side Kick

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Tactic three. The flick punch into a shuffle side kick. Bruce Lee fakes or strikes with a foot punch then pushes off his lead foot and replaces his lead foot with his rear foot. His lead knee bends then lifts up and extends the leg for a side kick. This probably one of if not the most powerful kick there is. (He demonstrates with a partner)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Here it is on the heavy bag. (He demonstrates with a heavy bag)

And here it is in my sparring. (He demonstrates with a partner)

TACTIC 4: Shuffle Lead Lead Snap Kick

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Tactic four is the shuffle lead leg snap kick. Bruce Lee uses this either to hit the leg, body or head. The same shuffle used in tactic three is applied. But the kick is a snap kick instead of a side kick. This is a less powerful kick than the entire realm has kicked but much faster. Here it is on the heavy bag. (He demonstrates with a heavy bag)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

And here it is in my sparring. (He demonstrates with a partner)

Tactic 5: Fake Flick Punch – Lead Hook Punch

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Tactic five is the fake one direction by faking a foot punch and then going the opposite direction by throwing a lead hook punch. (He demonstrates with a partner)

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Here it is on the heavy bag. (He demonstrates with a heavy bag)

And here it is in my sparring. (He demonstrates with a partner)

BONUS TACTIC: Inverted Snap Kick

Jeff Chan (MMA Fighter in ONE Championship):

Bonus tactic. The inverted snap kick. The same shuffle is used from tactics three and four, but Bruce Lee strikes in an inverted direction with the foot. He uses this to either hit the leg, body or head.
