Charlize Theron “At night I’ll go online to watch fighters or watch people fight and you always come across that odd Seagal video of him ‘fighting’ in Japan, but he really isn’t,” she explained when discussing researching for her roles. “He’s just incredibly overweight and pushing people. He’s overweight and can barely fight … look it up, it’s ridiculous. He’s shoving people by the face. It’s a whole setup.” She justified her harsh comments by noting that the actor has been rumored to be difficult to work with, especially for women. “I have no problem talking s— about him because he’s not very nice to women so f— you!” she told Howard Stern.

Representatives for Steven Seagal did not respond to any request for comment.

The transcript below is from the video “Charlize Theron Exposes Steven Seagal” by InformOverload.

Charlize Theron:

“For years you know…it was somewhat frustrating for me as a woman because I like the genre. I like watching his movies. Like I grew up…my mum loved Chuck Norris.”

In today’s video we’ll be breaking down a recent interview with Howard Stern where Charlize Theron threw major shade at Steven Seagal. She is sick and tired of the older male action heroes who believe that they own the genre. And with her new film she is hoping to show Hollywood that women can do that job just as well.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron went off during her recent interview with Howard Stern while talking about her previous films such as ‘The Fate of the Furious’ and ‘Atomic Blonde’. She said that she’s glad to challenge male action heroes for screen time especially her upcoming film called ‘The Old Guard’. She said in preparation for the role that she would go online at night to watch fighters or just people fighting in general. That would be hilarious to imagine just Charlize Theron on you know ‘World Stars’ watching extreme fights. Along with that though she said that she would inevitably come across an old Steven Seagal video of him ‘fighting’ somewhere in Japan. Although she admitted that he clearly isn’t fighting, and that he’s just overweight and pushing people around. Howard Stern completely agreed and commented that the 68-year old action star doesn’t appear to be in great shape these days.

Now I wanna hear good just before I continue, I want to get a read in the comment section. Do you think that she’s fat shaming or do you think that she’s kind of right with that one?

From that point though, her dissatisfaction with the praise around Seagal heightened. She added…

Charlize Theron:

“I have no problem talking s—t about him because he’s not very nice to women, so f—k you.”

She’s not wrong either. Back in 2018, two women accused Steven Seagal of sexually assaulting them decades earlier. And like most men that have been accused of this, he denied these claims and somehow continued to be idolized by many. Many big-name celebrities that have also accused him of sexual misconduct, Jenny McCarthy and Portia de Rossi all shared common stories about Seagal being inappropriate around them. According to Charlize Theron, the hard work of tough female stars has raised the bar when it comes to the action film genre. She is also adamant about creating an image where she performs all of her own stunts to prove that there is nothing wrong with fighting like a woman. This is a really valuable thing to be pushing for that genre as well. Especially if the actresses are brave enough to be doing their own stunts.

Johnny Rogers (InformOverload – What’s in the News and What’s Trending):

A female fighter will now be viewed as someone who just fights smart and does so while still telling an emotional story. For decades, the term ‘fight like a girl’ referred to a weaker fighter but with Charlize leading the charge, will now mean fighting smarter. Charlize also said that you don’t need a stunt person to step in and do something. You can create it to be something that you can do and that’s what makes it fun. Along with good choreography, of course that is there to celebrate you as an actor and to tell the story. Having a stunt person jump in to make you look good, just takes away from all of that.

Johnny Rogers (InformOverload – What’s in the News and What’s Trending):

After exposing Steven Seagal for both his fake fight scenes and abuse of women, Theron went on to talk more about the injuries that she sustained from doing her own stunts. While filming her new movie ‘The Old Guard’, she tore a ligament off the bone after fighting a very big guy. When she was shooting ‘Atomic Blonde’ back in 2017, she cracked her teeth in the first month of training. After visiting a dentist, she was told that she would have to undergo surgery to repair the damage. Talk about dedication. Although all these injuries, already small sacrifice to lift up women fighters in the action genre. She said that while all of these injuries were tough to go through, it made her prepare extra to be in the best shape possible.
