The transcript below is from the video “Faizon Love: Bruce Lee would Beat Michael Jai White in a Street Fight” by djvlad.

Faizon Love:

“Has he fought, um?”

Djvlad:

“He hasn’t fought anybody. He’s an actor. What I’m saying…”

Faizon Love:

“That’s what I’m saying.”

Djvlad:

“But he does spar with people.”

Faizon Love:

“Sparring?”

Djvlad:

“Yeah.”

Faizon Love:

“And fighting, is total difference. Fighting means, ‘I’m gonna leave here alive. And you’re gonna, you’re gonna, you might not get off that floor.”

Djvald:

“Yeah. You might just be…”

Faizon Love:

“It’s a different mentality.”

Djvald:

“I might just leave you there. Yeah, I feel you. Like I said.”

Faizon Love:

“But to say he can be Bruce Lee?”

Djvlad:

“I think there is a reason why you have weight classes in martial arts, martial arts matches.”

Faizon Love:

“How about this one? Bruce Lee’s number one, um, student was a fat guy.”

Djvald:

“Okay.”

Faizon Love:

“Um, I’m, I’m so bad with names, but you know what his name, um, uh Mike knows who it is. His last name was Marshall. He played ‘The Marshall’, his name was, Hank, oh my God. Uh, it’s not, he’s in the beginning of the, um, ‘Enter the Dragon’ and that’s what Bruce Lee is showing you. I don’t care how big you are, I got something for your ass. Um…”

Djvlad:

“Yeah, I can’t find this…”

Faizon Love:

“Oh my God! His first name is Hong, I think, um, he’s a big dude at the beginning of, he’s at the beginning of ‘Enter the Dragon’…”

Djvlad:

“Sammo Hung?”

Faizon Love:

“Yes.”

Djvald:

“Who’s, yeah, I know who that is.”

Faizon Love:

“Yes.”

Djvlad:

“He died in 1952.”

Faizon Love:

“No. Sammo’s still alive.”

Djvald:

“No, wait, no, no, you’re right. No, he was born in 52. [Both Laugh] My bad, you’re right, you’re right. Yeah, like hold on, 52? Wait, that wouldn’t have made any sense. He was born in 52. He’s 68 years old.”

Faizon Love:

“Yes.”

Djvlad:

“So, no, he’s been in a bunch of movies. I’ve seen him like…”

Faizon Love:

“What I’m saying though, he’s a, he was a fat guy.”

Djvlad:

“Yeah.”

Faizon Love:

“But Bruce, he loves his agility. He can fight. At the beginning of the ‘Enter the Dragon’, he’s showing you the weight has nothing to do with it. It’s what, it’s…”

Djvlad:

“Michael Jai White’s not fat. He’s actually…”

Faizon Love:

“I understand. I’ve seen a lot of muscle-bound dudes get f**ked up in street fights. In street fights, because you understand this right here is slow. You get this motherf**ker hitting all this s**t right here, all these are vital. Once they’re gone, once these teeth are gone, once you talk, once you grab this, everything else is gone. So, martial arts is not just this… [demonstrates] Martial arts, like ‘The Way of the Fist’, um, we gonna see.”

Djvlad:

“Oh, yeah, especially if weapons are involved.”

Faizon Love:

“Take weapons out. Just take weapons out. Okay.”

Djvlad:

“Weapons are definitely not out when it comes to street fights. You never know what’s going to happen. You never know what someone’s going to pull out or grab something on the street.”

Faizon Love:

“Listen, I’ve been a part of martial arts for years, okay, uh, the guy in San Diego, everybody, chicken was one of you know, chicken, uh, was one of the baddest, you know, he with JFK, you know, I don’t know if you know J, that’s, that’s, you know, um, uh, JFK and what else we had, um, the black karate, listen, there’s some bad motherf**kers, that, uh, you guys said Bruce Lee taught in Oakland?”

Djvald:

“Yeah.”

Faizon Love:

“Not this. Oakland of the 70s.”

Djvald:

“Black Panthers Oakland?”

Faizon Love:

“Yes.”

Djvlad:

“Right. That Oakland.”

Faizon Love:

“That Oakland, not in Hollywood. He wasn’t in Hollywood. He was in Oakland. For that little dude to walk around there you gotta have some nuts.”

Djvald:

“Well, I well, I don’t know. I got my money on Mike. You got, your, you can have your money, you can have your money on the dead guy, we’ll never, we’ll never figure it out. We’ll never figure it out.”

Faizon Love:

“You got to get a dead man some homage. Like come on man.”

Djvlad:

“No, I got you.”

Faizon Love:

“Like that, I remember, he, um, like come on Mike, come on blood, come on, knock it off.”
