Bruce Lee’s Family
While studying at the University of Washington met his future wife Linda Emery, a fellow student studying to become a teacher, whom he married in August 1964. Lee had two children with Linda: Brandon (1965–1993) and Shannon Lee (born 1969). Upon’s Lee passing in 1973, she continued to promote Bruce Lee’s martial art Jeet Kune Do. wrote the 1975 book Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew, on which the 1993 feature film Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story was based. In 1989, she wrote the book The Bruce Lee Story. She retired in 2001 from the family estate.
Lee died when his son Brandon was eight years old. While alive, Lee taught Brandon martial arts and would invite him to visit sets. This gave Brandon the desire to act and went on to study the craft. As a young adult, Brandon Lee found some success acting in action orientated pictures such as Legacy of Rage (1986), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), and Rapid Fire (1992). In 1993, at the age of 28, Brandon Lee died after being accidentally shot by prop gun on the set of The Crow.
Lee died when his daughter Shannon was four. In her youth she studied Jeet Kune Do, under Richard Bustillo, one of her father’s students. However, her serious studies did not begin until the late 1990s. To train for parts in action movies, she studied Jeet Kune Do with Ted Wong.
Jet Li’s Family
In 1987, Jet Li married Beijing Wushu Team member and Kids from Shaolin co-star Huang Qiuyan, with whom he has two daughters, Si and Taimi. They divorced in 1990. In 1999, Li married Nina Li Chi (born Li Zhi), a Shanghai-born, Hong Kong-based actress. In 1986, Li was the winner of Miss Asia Pacific Hong Kong. On September 30, 1986, Li as a beauty pageant participant of Miss Asia Pacific Quest 1986, and she placed as third runner up.
He has two daughters with her, Jane (born 2000) and Jada (born 2002).
He was in the Maldives when a tsunami hit during the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. Although it was widely reported at the time that he had died during the disaster, he only suffered a minor foot injury, caused by a piece of floating furniture while he was guiding his 4-year-old daughter Jane and the nanny holding his 1-year-old daughter Jada to safety of higher ground amid dangerously rising ocean water. The four of them were by the pool and slightly above the beach when the wave came ashore, barely escaping to the upper floors of a hotel building.
Donnie Yen’s Family
Yen met his first wife and Hong Kong advertising executive, Leung Zing-ci, in 1990. The couple began dating in 1993. After three years of dating, they married secretly in the United States in November 1996. The marriage ended in less than a year. After their divorce was finalized, Leung realized that she was pregnant with their son, Jeff, who was born in 1995.
Yen later married former beauty queen Cissy Wang after three months of dating.
Cecilia Wang Shi Shi (born 21 April 1981), also known as Cissy Wang, is a Hong Kong model. She was the 2000 Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant Champion. She is best known as the wife of Donnie Yen.
The couple have two children, Jasmine and James.
Jackie Chan’s Family
In 1982, Jackie Chan married Joan Lin, a Taiwanese actress. Their son, singer and actor Jaycee Chan, was born that same year. After he engaged in an extra-marital affair with Elaine Ng Yi-Lei, an illegitimate daughter by the name of Etta Ng Chok Lam was born on 18 January 1999. It turned into a scandal within the media. Although he reportedly gave Elaine 70,000 HK dollars each month for her living expenses and 600,000 HK dollars when she moved to Shanghai, the transactions were later claimed to be nonexistent by her lawyer. Despite regretting the results of the affair, Chan said he had “only committed a fault that many men in the world commit”.
Sammo Hung’s Family
In 1973, Sammo Hung married Jo Eun-ok, whom he grew up with in martial arts training school, and had three sons, Tin-Ming “Timmy” Hung (born 1974), Tin Cheung “Jimmy” Hung (born 1977), Tin Chiu “Sammy” Hung (born 1979), and a daughter, Chan Yu “Stephanie” Hung (born 1983) with her. Hung divorced Jo in 1994.
He married model and actress Joyce Godenzi in 1995. Godenzi appeared in several of his films including The Haunted Island, Eastern Condors (both 1986), Spooky Spooky (1988), Paper Marriage (1988) and She Shoots Straight (1990) prior to the pair becoming a couple. She also appeared in Mr. Nice Guy (1997).
Yuen Biao’s Family
In 1984, Yuen Biao married Didi Pang (Pang Sau Ha). They have two children; daughter Yi-Bui born in 1986 and son Ming-Tsak born in 1988. Yuen has a second home in Canada where he enjoys golf.
