BruceLeeRealFight:
Welcome to BruceLeeRealFight channel. This is one of the most iconic scenes from Bruce Lee’s 1972 Fist of Fury. This stunt man who challenged Bruce Lee and gets beaten up badly is Max Lee. Max Lee was a fighting director for Fist of Fury. He worked with Bruce Lee closely for almost a year for this film. In the 1972 Fist of Fury, he played the Japanese guy who was beaten up by Bruce Lee at the dojo fight scene and forced to eat the sick man of Asia paper which Bruce Lee tore up.

Max Lee:
“Then by chance I met Bruce Lee. The film was called Fist of Fury. This discussion led to me working with Bruce Lee on Fist of Fury. In this film, I was just the fighting director. I also acted in this film. I was one of the Japanese. I was the guy being forced to eat the paper which Bruce Lee tore up. I had to spit it out, this segment of Asia sign which I was carrying. That was the only part I had in the film.”

Although this was the only part Max Lee had in the film with Bruce Lee, he spent a lot of time with Bruce Lee behind the scenes because he was a popular director, producer, fighting director, stuntman and presenter back in the 70s. Here is an interview with Max Lee. Let’s listen to what he said about Bruce Lee during an interview in 1997.

Max Lee:
“When I first met Bruce Lee, we tried a lot of experiments. We want to make our fight scenes better. I used to challenge his sidekick. Bruce Lee then sidekicked my chest sending me flying 30 yards backward. I flew straight out of the room and fallen into a rotten chair. The first thing Bruce Lee did was to ask me if I was hurt. I said I was okay because I had protective padding on.”
