“What is going on guys, well you’re welcome to the video. Today we’re going to be eating and training like one of the most iconic martial artists to ever walk this earth, Bruce Lee. The guy was deadly. He could do push-ups with just a couple fingers. He was even famous for one finger punch but unfortunately, we lost him way too soon at the age of 32. Tons of conspiracy theories surrounding his death. Nobody really knows. Now I have done many diet and trainings of other people in the past but this one is completely different, because other people have done, they’ve had similarities whether it be in the diet or the training, but this one is all of its own. Tons of food today that I have never tried. Very excited to get to it and see how my body feels. So, let’s do it.

So, my form of morning meditation usually involves being in my bed with a grapefruit but Bruce Lee would get up every single morning and go for a jog. So, we’re gonna go do that right now and then go and get some breakfast.

Alright, guys, well that was the morning jog. It feels good to get up and get moving. So, now we’re gonna go pick up some breakfast because a lot of the stuff today, I have no idea how to cook.

Will Tennyson:

Alright, guys. Meal number one. Not your typical breakfast of egg whites and oatmeal. Looks a little bit sad but fancy at the same time. So, we have some fish and pork liver, congee, which I’ve never had before. We have some black Lipton tea with some royal jelly honey and some ginseng. This was his own little creation to balance his energy levels throughout the day. And then on the side we have some orange juice, which is a very weird flavor combination with this dish. It’s probably gonna taste just as bad as having that after brushing your teeth. Uh, so, this is not a lot of food. He does not like to have big meals throughout the day. He likes to have around four to five meals spread out pretty evenly. He’s a pretty small guy, 5’7, 130-140 pounds, but he was shredded. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he had probably one of the lowest body fats of any athlete around. So, you know what, I’m a breast man, I don’t mind a good set of thighs at some times, but liver is new territory for me. And if I’m being honest, it’s making me feel a little bit tense right now. But just like any other organ I put in my mouth, gotta go into it open-minded here.

Definitely a novelty component to it. I just wasted a swallow. Wow. That was worse than I thought. Okay. The rice is good. The rice is very good. It has a nice like, like rich brothy component to it.

Will Tennyson:

Oh, the rice is good. The fish liver definitely tastes a lot better than the pork liver, I’ll tell you that. Definitely. Let’s go in with some tea here. So, he did not drink any coffee, unfortunately. Had tons of these throughout the day. It’s good. It tastes like tea with honey. Can’t complain. Now with the OJ. It’s good. I can’t complain. I’m gonna power through the congee and the fish liver, but the pork liver is just texturally obnoxious. I cannot eat it. Like there’s no way it’s going down, but the good thing about organ meat is that it’s very high in B vitamins and minerals. So, if you do like it, it is a very good thing to incorporate into your diet. And you guys know taste is 80% eyes. And just take a look at the pork liver, just how kind of like off-putting that it looks. As these little like circular kind of specks on it. Kind of looks like some sort of like sea algae. So, I’m not, I’m not gonna be… I tried it, at least I tried it. I put anything in my mouth but I’m not gonna continue it. Alright guys, well, that is gonna conclude meal number one. I’m just gonna go sit. Chill. Finish my tea. And I’ll check with you guys pretty shortly.

Will Tennyson:

Alright guys, so, we are about to head to the gym very shortly, but before I do, I want to make a pre-workout meal. So, we are going to make Bruce Lee’s protein shake. Now the amount of creativity in this, is a lot like my prison video but hopefully it surpasses the taste. So, the first thing that you are going to need is the powdered nectar of the tea, aka powdered milk. So, a lot of people said online that he does not like dairy. That is not the case. He actually did like a glass of milk from time to time. He did actually dabble with some ice cream. So, powdered milk is the first ingredient. And the reason why he did powdered milk is because it has a higher concentration of calcium. And then the next thing you were going to need is some wheat germ, you’re going to need some lecithin, which is good for liver function, I actually don’t know. Just got it for the video. It helps support liver function. I’m learning too, you guys. I’m learning too. We got some banana. We got some peanut butter, definitely, because saving grace of this shake. And then we got ourselves some brewer’s yeast. And then of course because all the shakes I typically make on these daily life videos have raw eggs. So, of course going in with a raw egg. So, that is not going to put this together and then head to the gym.

So, for the lecithin, I could only actually find pills and I couldn’t find the actual, like powder, if you’re even seen this powder. So, we’re going to stab it and get the, get the nice juices out of that. You can milk anything if you squeeze it hard enough. And last but not least. Let’s blend this bad boy up.

Alright, let’s see what we’re working with here. Smell-wise we got something. I feel like banana is a very overpowering thing. So, it smells just pretty much like a banana protein shake. Alright, let’s do it.

It’s quite odd. Not sweet at all. It does taste very healthy and very fresh. It is actually very, very good. You can’t really taste the peanut butter. The egg is a very elusive component which I’m very happy about, but I mean, it kind of tastes like, just like melted banana ice cream. All right so, I’m gonna put this into the shaker cup, head to the gym and I’ll see you guys when I get there.

Will Tennyson:

Alright, guys. Shake is down. It was really good. I feel like the best way to actually describe it is like it’s like a non-sweet granola bar, because like the wheat germ and like the other stuff added kind of like a [inaudible] to it with the banana. Really, really good. Highly recommend giving it a shot. The one time getting powdered up, going raw wasn’t my idea.

Alright, guys. So, we’re at the gym right now. I’m about to hop into the workout. So, the workout we’re going to be doing is from Bruce Lee’s gym card. It’s his own handwriting. I’ll put on the screen right now. Looks to be a full body workout with tons of arm volume and a lot of stuff I haven’t done before. So, you will notice he actually doesn’t lift a lot of weight because he didn’t want to sacrifice speed and flexibility for muscle bulk. So, we’re gonna go and warm up and put some skipping for 10 minutes and then get into the workout.

Will Tennyson:

Alright. So, this workout looks like it’s all super set. So, the first superset of the day is squat, super set with the French press. So, 10 squats, super set with six reps of the French press. So, it looks like he does a lot of triceps work. His triceps are very good for your punching strength. So, we’re gonna see how this goes and let’s do it. Okay. So, for this workout, I’m not gonna go crazy weight. I’m just gonna focus on speed, just like how he would. So not crazy weights.

Alright, guys. Moving on to super set number two. And the only difference is we’re swapping out the squats for the incline curl. So, six incline curls superset, with six French presses. Three sets my kind of substitution.

Superset number two, down. Now let’s go see what’s next. So, it looks like I actually screwed up the order of the workout. So, I wasn’t supposed to superset the squats with the French press for the first exercise that was only for the next one. So, I theoretically did more work than I needed to. So, the next thing that we are doing is French press, again, superset with concentration grill.

Moving on to super set number four. We have some weighted push-ups. You want to get good at push-ups like Bruce Lee, you gotta do a lot of push-ups. So, push-ups, super set with some barbell curl, three sets, ten reps. Let’s do it.

Okay everybody we’re moving on to the tail end of the workout. Going to be doing some forearm stuff. So, pretty much pre-exhausting the muscle for tonight. It’s a good quarantine workout and with the last bit of little triceps stuff left. So, what we’re gonna be doing is triceps stretch, which is just a French press with one arm standing at a time, super set with dumbbell circles for the forearm. So, as many reps as possible is what he’d like to say, infinity reps.

Wow. Very familiar feeling for me but four more times…

Will Tennyson:

Alright, guys. On to the last super set. I am wiped out right now. My forearms are so pumped. It actually hurts to hold this and this is empty. Definitely my morning routines will be tampered with for like the next week. So, now I’m moving on to five sets of twelve sit-ups superset with five sets of bodyweight cab raises and then we get to go home and have lunch.

Alright. Well, that was the workout. It was actually pretty good. A lot different than what I’m used to. There’s a lot more cardiovascular focus than what I typically would do but it makes a lot of sense as martial arts requires a lot of endurance, but one thing is for sure, I built up an appetite. So, let’s go have some lunch.

Will Tennyson:

So, we have ourselves some beef and oyster sauce with some steamed rice, a side garden salad and some Li Cha. I don’t know guys. I’m not Chinese. It’s like a Chinese milk tea situation. It kind of looks like I went into the pond and just scooped up a little bit of water. A lot of stuff going on here. So, it says it is a black soybean and multi-grain beverage mix, product of Taiwan, looks healthy. Bruce Lee was not a big fan of American cuisine, yeah, he thought it was pretty bland. So, that’s why he gravitated towards more Chinese food, although, he did like McDonald’s from time to time, like who does not like McDonald’s. So, I mean, this being his favorite dish, beef and oyster sauce, I mean, let’s do it. So, they gave me chopsticks but I just want to focus on the meat, not so much on my technique. Finally get a choice between the two, definitely redemption time from the liver, I’ll tell you that. Like what is oyster sauce other than just oyster-oyster, like do oysters produce sauce or is it like oyster milk? Can you milk an oyster? Do oysters lactate? I’m not a fan of the distribution of broccoli to beef, like what the heck? I guess they don’t care about protein intake.

Will Tennyson:

Alright, let’s give this tea a little shot here, or aka a little kind of a compulsion situation. Very thick tea. Oh, very soothing on the soul. Damn! So, this is 130 calories, 2 grams of fat, 23 carbs, 4 grams of protein, I like it. Definitely a nice change from traditional tea. All right, let’s super set in some garden salads even Bruce Lee has greens, guys. Greens are very important. Make sure to eat them. The wide garden sounds like the most depressing salad of all salads.

This is like a beef dish but for some reason I feel like I’m a vegetarian right now with this meal, like where the heck is the beef, man? But I tell you what, that beef is tender. The way Chinese people handle their meat is just incredible, admirable actually. Damn, that’s good. All right everybody, that was lunch, very good, very nutritious. I can feel the protein traveling to my forearms as we speak. So, now I’m gonna go shower and then we’re gonna do a little nunchucks lesson.

Will Tennyson:

Alright, so, Bruce Lee is famous for a lot of things. The one thing he is known for is his nunchucks abilities. So, what we’re gonna do is a beginner’s workout on YouTube by Sensei David. So, I happen just to have some nunchucks right here. Obviously they’re not real, they’re more for like role play in the bedroom, like you know, ‘I’m Bruce Lee.’ You know what I mean. So, gonna follow along the five-minute video and see how good we can get. Probably should be wearing a helmet for this I’ll tell you that.

All right. So, in five minutes, this is what we learned. So, you gotta intimidate the opponent, give him a little roundabout action, then you go pull back, grab it, pull forward, squeeze. Give me a couple weeks, Bruce Lee.

Will Tennyson:

Alright. So, quick little snack before dinner of a homemade juice. So Linda Lee, Bruce Lee’s wife, mentioned that Bruce loved to make his own little juice concoctions all the time with fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. He especially loved carrots. And carrots typically made up 50% of his drinks. So in here, we have a full apple with a ton of carrots, and the reason why he liked to drink his vegetables and fruits was for better nutrient absorption as well as, he knew that when you cook vegetables, especially when you boil them, you lose a lot of their enzymes. So, he liked to go raw as often as he could and I couldn’t agree more. So let’s give this a taste test. So he did this in the blender. He didn’t have a juicer. I don’t even know if they had juicers back then. And there was an amount, there’s like so much damn pulp in here. It’s like a six-year-old’s nightmare.

I can’t even get it. It’s so thick. Definitely interesting. It’s, it’s really good. It tastes fresh. I love apples. It’s like my favorite fruit besides pineapple. Apple and carrots are a very good combination. I like it. Alright. Well, that was a snack. Very good. Not very filling. I’m obsessed with the show ‘Deal or No Deal’. You guys watched that show? It’s actually pretty sick. So definitely will not fill me up for very long. So we’re gonna be making dinner pretty soon.

Will Tennyson:

Alright. Time for dinner. The last and final meal of the day. So this full day of eating just took a sharp turn to Italy, because for dinner we have spaghetti with meat sauce with a little garden salad on the side. And then a glass of powdered milk. So apparently, milk with spaghetti is actually a very common combination. I’ve never had it before. There we go, 90 Cals of powdered milk. Kind of tastes like a baby formula. I don’t know about that. I don’t know about that. I love me some spaghetti. I never really eat it though, because the calories are so high. This is not that much spaghetti, 450 calories, it’s just not worth it to me. I feel like it’s kind of replacing the parmesan that will go on top. It’s not bad though. I can kind of see why people eat it. Moving on to our second garden salad of the day. So, tons of vegetables, tons of fruit today. Bruce Lee ate very healthy, most of the time. He still allowed himself to have a cheat meal here and there. He did love ice cream. He loved McDonald’s. He loved soft drinks, like he like pops and stuff like that. So he never really had anything off limits. Just stuff in moderation which is key. And he never drank either. It kind of tastes like it’s kind of like reptile milk, you know. Just from an animal that’s very hard to milk. It’s extremely off-putting. Okay. Dumping the salad on in.

Will Tennyson:

Alright, guys. Well, that was eating and training like Bruce Lee. As you guys can see, that was not your typical daily diet and training of an athlete. It seems like Bruce Lee had a more holistic approach to health and fitness and didn’t just look at the muscle but rather the entire body as unison. So, I’m gonna wrap up the video with a little quote by Bruce Lee and that is, ‘The successful warrior is an average man with laser-like focus.’ So, that is so true. You look at all these people who are successful in their field and there’s nothing special about them. They just set a goal. And they go after it and they just do whatever it takes to get there. And that is just so important. If it’s very important to you, you will find a way to get it done. So, that’s gonna wrap up this video guys.”
