At the age of 8, White’s family relocated to Connecticut where he studied the Shōtōkan and Kyokushin forms of Karate and earned his first black belt by age 13. These were not his only talents in martial arts, he also studied Goju-Ryu, Taekwondo, Kobudō, Tang Soo Do, Wushu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has won multiple championships as a national martial arts competitor.

During his college years, White was bitten by the acting bug and later moved to Los Angeles to further his acting career. After guest starring on many television shows including Saved by the Bell, Renegade and NYPD Blue, White eventually landed his first major starring role in the 1995 HBO film Tyson as heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson. Michael was then cast to play the title character in the movie Spawn which came with the distinction of being the first black superhero in a major motion picture. As White cemented his Hollywood status as a bonafide action star, more diverse roles emerged that allowed him to showcase his physical prowess as well as display his on-screen charisma and comedic ability in such films as Exit Wounds, Undisputed 2, Silver Hawk, Blood and Bone, Black Dynamite and Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married and Why Did I Get Married Too, to name just a few. At the age of 12, after winning a small role in an Off-Broadway production of The Me Nobody Knows, he decided that performing would be the focus of his future. In 1986, shortly after receiving a B.A. degree from the State University of New York at purchase, he made his motion picture debut in Wildcats and appeared in a number of theatrical and television productions including Miami Vice and the soap opera All My Children. Since the 1990s, Snipes has appeared in many film roles including Mo Better Blues, New Jack City, Jungle Fever, White Men Can’t Jump, The Waterdance, and Rising Sun, to name just a few. Roles in Passenger 57, Demolition Man, Money Train, The Fan and U.S Marshals led to him becoming a bonafide action star as well as a reliable leading man.

His martial arts skills would be used to their fullest effect in the action flick Blade in 1998. His martial arts skills along with his brooding performance captured the character of vampire hunter perfectly and ushered in the modern age of comic book based box office hits. This, of course, was followed by Blade 2 and Blade Trinity. He also played the assassin Dr. Death in the action thriller The Expendables 3. His subsequent credits include Dolemite Is My Name and Coming 2 America, both of which star Eddie Murphy. Along with his acting career, he has also produced many of the films he appeared in and has gained many awards for his work.

So out of these two talented movie stars, which one would win in a street fight? As we have just mentioned, the main focus on these guys minds is the acting, producing and directing of films, in which they both play roles of action-adventure characters or superheroes. And in their acting roles, they do their job brilliantly. If they were up against each other away from the camera in a one-on-one street fight, it would be a close call. They both have years of experience in martial arts and both use their abilities to the fullest. They have both competed in various martial arts styles and have come up through the ranks at the same time. Neither one of them is just an actor, they both began at a young age, learning the techniques of fighting. Let’s not forget that they are also very good friends. So we can’t really imagine them fighting each other away from the cameras. In fact, Michael Jai White is quoted as saying, “That’s my brother, my good friend, it will never happen.”
