Later on Dillman went on to study with other famous martial artists such as Daniel K. Pai, Robert Trais, Harry G. Smith, and Wally Jay. In the mid 60s Dillman was introduced to Bruce Lee by Ed Parker, an American martial artist who opened the first karate school in the western United States in Provo, Utah in 1954. From then on they became good friends. In a recent interview Dillman said that there was once Bruce Lee went to his dojo in America and beat up everyone.

George Dillman:
And he asked if he could stop by the dojo to train. And he did. He came by the dojo. He came by my school three times. He went in and asked if he could spar with your students. And then he would spar with your students and he did very well with all the students. He beat them up.

Dillman then asked Bruce Lee for a spar. And guess what it takes Bruce a few seconds to defeat Dillman. Let’s see what Dillman said about the spar.

George Dillman:
You know if you ask him to fight. Well I asked him to fight. That’s how it came about. He didn’t ask me, I asked him. I said, I want to fight with you. I want a spar. And we sparred. But you know, I went into my fighting stance and all of a sudden woop.

George Dillman:
When I first met him, he told me I can hit you four times, before you hit me once. And I doubted that. But he did.

From what Dillman said we can imagine how fast Bruce Lee was. Although Dillman is not the best fighter at that time, he is still a 10th degree black belt and he trained with Muhammad Ali Muhammad Ali’s Bodyguard Challenged Bruce Lee to a Fight… Then This Happened before, yet he described Bruce Lee’s speed is like lightning and he was defeated.
