The most memorable thing to me, that is, the scenes you did with Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. Now were your stunt man or stunt coordinator at that time?
Sammo Hung:
I’m as a stunt co-writer already and I miss a better, so not top one you know! Two and three like you know?!
Interviewer:
Supporting actor?
Sammo Hung:
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Interviewer:
Now when you hear about I’m gonna do a scene with Bruce Lee and he’s like already an international star. Because stuntmen are looking for opportunity. Like you’re saying okay? I’m gonna? Were you excited?
Sammo Hung:
No.
Interviewer:
Did you know about him?
Sammo Hung:
Of course! I would know about him. Because before I work with him, we have a problem before.
Interveiwer:
Oh?!
Sammo Hung:
You know when he started. He have an idea to make the Game of Death. You know? He told me, Sammo did you have time, are you interested? Yeah some part in the Game of Death. And I say, yah why not! You be in my movies and I say OK. And than I wait eight months and nothing happen. Nobody tell me what happened. I cannot start in there, right. I gotta eat, I gotta work, you know??
No nobody told me than. Suddenly, I have a…I have a project, that went to the career. So I must take the project. And then I went, go today, I went to the career. After man, he started shooting. Okay he cannot find me. Than he say, I’m liar, you know? And then after he shoot The Game of Death half. Then he stopped. Then they shoot Enter the Dragon, you know. And then at the time I’m in Bangkok. And the I’m actually directing in Bangkok, you know. And then suddenly he call me. He want me to go back Hong Kong in two days and fight with Bruce Lee.
Sammo Hung:
As you know, I don’t want too. Because why? I’m not, I’m not not happy. Because in Thailand I control everything. The fighting, that time the action director they don’t care. Everyone just sitting there, that I should do everything, you know. Maybe I’m leaving, they stop, so sorry, I cannot come back. They talked about … I’ll just come up one day and secondly it’s a half day, then the night, send you back Bangkok… hmm. Talk long time, okay okay I come back. I fly back to Hong Kong. I saw Bruce Lee, they were talking, just talking about the shooting. Tomorrow what kind of action, we just talk on his friends yacht. Something like, okay, okay, okay, okay, see you tomorrow. Just like that, very fast. That next day, we are on a set, with makeup. He and me in makeup. Than he say, he started to say something like that. Then he asked me, Sam you know I don’t like you?! Why? Because you’re liar! So what liar? You promise me you’ll be a part in my movie Game of Death then you leaving. I said hey man, I waited for eight months. So nobody told me, right? Did you call me? Did ask somebody? Do you tell me what happened? Hey I’m not a rich man, I need work you know. I have a family, right? He think yes, so I go to work. So what? Than he’s like okay okay.
Interviewer:
Than your friends again?
Sammo Hung:
No. Then were shooting, which is the after second day morning. Than were in make up and we talk again. Than he say,  Sammo did you like me? And I say before yesterday I don’t like too, you know. Well because you don’t understand me, you know. How about now? Now I like you! We just didn’t know each others problem, you know. It’s cool.
