Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

Dear friends my name is Shi Yan Jun, I’m 34th generation shaolin warrior monk. When I was a little kid I was called the “chubby fighter”, and I loved to fight a lot against the neighborhood’s kids. My parents sent me to the Shaolin temple to learn Kung Fu. In order to practice Kung Fu well, you need to practice both inside QI and outside QI together (QI means energy). “Practice inside QI and outside meridians, bones and skins” it is the true meaning of practicing Chinese and Kung Fu. You need to combine inside QI and outside QI, strong and soft moves together.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

Coming to train at Songshan Shaolin Traditional Wushu Academy will benefit you because here there are different types of QI: mountain QI, people QI, Kong Fu QI. Training together with Shifu every day you can get much better QI. In this way, your vision of life will be broadened and you can also gain more wisdom from it. Shaolin temple is a place for Buddhism and you’ll be blessed by Buddha. It teaches you how to be a better person and live a happier life. Chinese Kung Fu includes Yin and Yang, wuxing (5 elements) and Chinese traditional culture. It takes a long time of hard training to master Kung Fu.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

You need to keep practicing Kung Fu every day, only in this way you can store more QI. Besides, you also need to live a regular lifestyle to keep the balance of Yin and Yang. If you keep practicing like this, your Kung Fu can make good progress in 3 years, bigger progress in 6 years and become a master of Kung Fu in 10 years. When I was a kid I loved to watch movies with Jet Lee, but the thing who influenced me the most was shaolin temple. At the time I was 11.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

When I first went to the temple I went through a lot because of the cold weather and hardship but I gained a lot from it. I learned to be independent living together with the little monks. We enjoyed our life together through the hard training. I occasionally think of that period of time. We lived a very regular life: got up on time, trained on time and went to bed on time. Time flew by, 7 years later I became a Shifu. I started to perform abroad and more foreigners got to know Chinese Kung Fu and Shaolin temple. As a warrior monk of the temple, it is such an honor to be able to stay here for so many years. I gained a lot happiness from it.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

Shaolin temple is the best place to practice Kung Fu. You can come here to fulfill your Kung Fu dream, for others with health problem you can also come here to practice healing Kung Fu. Train hard and live a healthy and happy life here.By practicing QIGong you can store more QI inside your body and it can keep you healthy. According to Chinese traditional medicine theory there are 3 treasures for a person: Jing (spirit), QI (energy) and Shen (heart). If you are happy and in a good mood everyday then your Jing will be good, with good Jing your QI and Shen will be very good. As a Kung Fu master, I have been teaching for 17 years (teaching foreigners for 10 years).

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

I have visited many different countries and have participated in many Kung Fu competitions like boxing, forms of Shaolin punch, and I truly have gained a lot of pleasure from it. The word Shifu contains two Chinese characters. Shi means teacher and Fu means father. As an ancient Chinese saying goes ” One day as a teacher, a life as a father.” The relationship between shifu and the student is very close. As close as the relationship between a father and a son. As a Shifu, you are supposed to take big responsibility for not only teaching them Kung Fu well but also teaching them how to become a good person.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

QI cannot be seen or touched. There is soul and QI in everything. If you want to get more QI you need to calm down and do some meditation. By practicing this every day, finally you will be able to feel the QI inside. Just as an old Chinese saying goes ” Practice inside QI and outside meridians bones and skins.” The outside things that can be seen are inborn and cannot be changed, but the inside QI that cannot be seen can be developed. When you do meditation, make sure your body is straight, calm down and breathe naturally. By doing meditation in this way every day you will finally be able to feel the flow of QI inside your body.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

After gaining this QI and store it inside your body, you will be much healthier and stronger. It can also increase your wisdom and make you more intelligent. QI is a treasure for us and we can benefit a lot from it for the whole life. I wish you all can finally get to feel the inside QI and your Shifu will also feel happy to help you with it. This is QI. Taiji contains two Chinese characters, Tai means beginning, Ji means the end. Both Taiji and Chinese traditional medicine value the balance of Yin and Yang. By practicing Taiji, your soul and body get relaxed and finally you can obtain the balance of Yin and Yang.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

Many foreigners’ body condition are different from Chinese people, their body are stiffer due to different living habits and genes. We Chinese value Chinese traditional medicine and the balance of Yin and Yang. That’s why we practice Taiji. The most important thing in practicing Taiji is about circle, which means the balance of Yin and Yang. By practicing Taiji, your soul and body get relaxed and finally you can obtain the balance of Yin and Yang.

Shi Yan Jun (4th Generation Shaolin Warrior Monk):

By practicing Taiji your whole body get relaxed and when your body is relaxed, your QI is unblocked. On the contrary if your body is too stiff, your QI is blocked. When you relax, your meridian will be unblocked and you will be able to feel fresh and healthy. We should practice Taiji to store more QI inside and keep healthy, instead taking medicine which is not good for our health. I think no matter if you are sick or suffering from sub-health problems you can all practice Taiji. Thanks.
