Hi everybody, is Beerdy here, what’s going on guys. Okay so when most people think of Jackie Chan they think of an action star or a stuntman but what most people don’t know is that Jackie Chan is a legit martial artist. This guy knows at least half a dozen show lead styles including being a specialist in crane style and is also a specialist in Aikido so this guy is a legit martial artist and Bruce Lee knew that that is why Bruce Lee had so much respect for Jackie Chan and picked him to be in several of his movies. So in this interview here Jackie Chan parks about Bruce Lee, meeting Bruce Lee, and working with Bruce Lee and he tells one of the most amazing Bruce Lee stories ever so here we go guys enjoy.

Being a Stuntman at the time it really earns a lot of money because beside Stuntman I double for dangerous Stunt, dangerous Stunt different kind of pay.

Interviewer:

This is a southern style.

Jackie Chan (Hong Kong actor, filmmaker, martial artist, and stuntman):

My style is a northern style. So you can see in the movie when they are fighting totally different styles and that’s for the Japanese guy (Plays a video from the movie scene) outside of a window at the time I say okay I will do it. While with no (Explains the scene using hands while speaking Chinese)

Jackie are okay? (Showing with hands how he was asked) it’s okay. They fight like 20 people at the same time with two sticks (makes some sound with his mouth and hands to explain) and the end, the end one come up (makes the sound with his mouth)

(Shows the video of that scene in slow motion)

I runs in, I fight him, he turns around (makes a sound with his mouth while also illustrating with his hands) one stick right in here. They cut, he throws sticks, he run away look Jackie and he grab me, (he shows with his hands how he was grabbed) I’m sorry, I’m sorry.

And somehow I got a chance to work with him. He’s so quick and very good for the stunt guy. Yeah, he always makes fun of the stunt guy and talk to the stunt guy. Don’t talk, never talk to me because I’m too young. And I remember as a shot (he makes a sound using his mouth while showing with his hands) what’s that called? Yeah huh, you know two stick fight. First I work with him, is a she a woman ah.




Interviewer:

“The golden.”

“She is a woman she kicked the Japanese guy out, what’s that movie? (Indistinct chatters from the crowd) yeah Fist of Fury, yeah whatever (Laughter) I somehow I get chosed the Buddhist, the Japanese, the Japanese ah, the opponent, then I just. Jackie can you do it yourself? I say yes, then I put the ram I do run, run, I go back, I fall down, cut, good shot. Next shot I will hang about like eh, because the Japanese, ah ah (he continues show with his hands what he was doing in the scene) architect so you have about that height with all the wood then now the window, after up to the window about about Jackie, about that height. Eh I swing, I swing (makes a sound with his mouth) with his kick power, swing (Makes another sound with his mouth) at first the wire, when wrinkle becoming (He makes a sound with his mouth) then no no no too slow and you drop too slow, then you know what they do, they go (He makes funny sounds with his mouth while the crowd laughs) I was like good, six, six. Bruce Lee was just on the side. Oh oh (The crowd continues to laugh) then (He makes another sound with his mouth) okay okay no but we go one more time. Okay one more time (Laughter from the crowd) then I go, then I come I remember Bruce Lee picked me up grabbed you okay, yeah okay then I looked him wow he touched me.”

(Applause)

Then wow I just, that’s the first time, the second time is a (He speaks Chinese) eh eh, the two sticks. What movie? Enter the Dragon Yeah Enter the Dragon. I’m the last one I’ve been waiting waiting then (he makes some sounds using his mouth) and the last one I go (he makes another sound using his mouth). He just gives me one, like one stick (he makes a sound using his mouth while showing with his hands) one stick (He makes another sound with his mouth) okay rehearsal, then (he makes a sound using his mouth) then fall down. Okay do it. Is a what big, big one shot (he makes a sound with his mouth) then I come up (he makes another sound with his mouth) I just a few (he makes another sound with his mouth) my eyes a lot of stuff because of one stick here (he makes the sound with his mouth while the crowd laughs) I fall down, then I peep and because he came up behind me just like this see I see Bruce Lee because when he fight I always I always want to see how he move know if he (he makes a sound with his mouth) the way he move (he makes the same sound again with his mouth) turn around run run run cut. After cut then he sh*t, he saw the stick run to me, run to me actually I get hit every day, you know. (The crowd laughs) As the stunt guy, you know. I get punched, I get kicked, it’s okay. But I get up, I see he runs to me then I (he demonstrates using his hands and the crowd laughs) I just pretend. Ah you okay? I’m okay (they all laugh) Okay are you sure? The whole night, the whole night I was just like this (he shows by touching his head with his hand and the crowd laughs) And he was left because we are always on the set everyday he just (he moves his hands to show and the crowd laughs) the whole day (they all laugh) then somehow I know we over day, over time we have to, he have to pick up a few like bander.

Interviewer:

Ah daytime finish, we meet night. So we need some stunt guys follow 24 hours. So we get double pay, so he says, he just, oh tell this guy, this guy. Then a me okay wow. I know he special, I think he earns some more money. Then I get double pay and then when the stunt guy goes in the water another double pay. Then they say okay tell this guy come. Then me again (the crowd laughs) on the bridge and also I think he liked my rhythm when you grab my hair everything I just need ah, shows real know even, (he moves his hands to show them) I’m just that good.

(The crowd laughs while clapping)

And then it becoming they asked me what’s my name, he give me a double stick (the start showing with his hands while making some sounds with his mouth) then I go to the water for one shot. Wow that was so good. Then I get another double pay then where when I get joy they ask me what’s my name. I say I’m Jackie. What did you learn? I learn this dadada and another thins. Then few months later I was at playing bowling. I was very good. I was bowling, (Laughter) I’m a campaign (Laughter) believe it or not. Then I walk. I was supposed to go from Peninsula Hotel walk to the bus station take a bus I walk walk walk in front of me then I see Bruce Lee by himself walking. Ah wide, at that time you know, wide high shoes and high colors. Then he walks, hi Jackie. I say hi. Where are you going, I say I’m going to play bowling. You play bowling, can I go with you? (Laughter) Okay, taxi.

(Laughter) (Applause)

I only touched so much money then I get a taxi, then I go to the bowling alley (he speaks Chinese) 4C something. When I get there wow I’m so, everybody Bruce Lee, and yeah (he says yeah while nodding).

(They all laugh)

Jackie Chan (Hong Kong actor, filmmaker, martial artist, and stuntman):

Then I say Bruce sit, sit down. Don’t come here (the crowd laughs) don’t sorry, no sign. (The crowd and the Interviewer laughs) What do you want, then I pay about 1.5k then I just sit here like this. The people surround. Go (Laughter) then I say what do you want, dadada they talk to him. Looks like I’m carvery good friend (Laughter) then Bruce say Jackie I got to go. Okay. Then I send him, the last face I see him just he calls the taxi I turn around (he stops talking for a while) then he gets up. Then I’m just standing there (Laughter) nothing he just go, walk away then I go to pay then. You know Bruce Lee? Yeah, my buddy (Laughter) Then about months later then he is gone. Yeah. That’s how I met Bruce Lee.
